Current mood: sick

For someone who boasts that the advantage of having arthritis is uber immune system that means I don't tend to pick up all the little colds and sniffles etc that go round. Well, I'm good at chronic pain but I actually really really suck at being sick!

Halp! I haz cold, I don't think its bacon fever, but given the symptoms are pretty much flu symptoms - well you know.

Plz send chicken soup (or nearest vegetarian equivalent), and hugs. I'd also like more brain candy reading material and tv to watch, but I have to wait until Bear gets home.

... I have the opposite. Chronic illness = completely crap immune system. Partly because I take immuno suppressants.

Feh. You name it, I catch it. I've been on two planes, so natch, I have ze sniffles. Not bacon flu, just a cold, but still means I feel like crap.

*sends hugs, tissues, mock chicken soup, and eye candy*

xo

Same with me. Missing spleen = completely crap immune system.

I've spent a couple of hundred dollars on immunisations since christmas.

Best thing for colds is garlic and lots of it. :)

I'm on pretty much the same immuno suppressants as you I'm guessing, but obviously mine are less effective.

*hugs back*

See, chicken soup I can do - I've got a freezer with plenty of leftover stock just begging to be used up. Sadly, work doesn't seem to think that me wanting to make soup is a good enough reason to leave early :(

*hugs* and *hugs* and more *hugs*

The real problem I'm having it trying to come up with a vegetarian equivalent, its actually harder than you'd think.

Do mee goreng two minute noodles with lots of garlic, soy and chilli count?

I've got a shitload of work to do, I've gotten as far as making a list of the work I need to do and putting the books near my couch. Study by osmosis works right?

you didn't even go to the con? :)

Try eating the books? :)

No! I know. But folks that have just moved to Canberra that I encouraged to go did go along, so I count that as a win. I did go to Golgotha, which I think might have been the nail in the coffin.

Lemon juice, honey & hot water - with a nip of brandy. The more the better (the honey & lemon drink - not so much the brandy). Stay hydrated.

Heat & lots of it. Get more heaters & more doonas.

And aloe vera tissues....aloe vera ones hear, not yucky scratchie ones or eucalyptus ones, aloe vera ones. You will not regret it.

*hugs*

Get better soon

I'm set for the lemon, honey and brandy, along with aloe & eucalyptus tissues, apparently they make them together now.

I made bear go shopping last night :)

Ack, suckage!

Chronic pain and respiratory illness require a totally different set of coping mechanisms, I think. I wouldn't feel too bad about being weak. :)

Hope you get well soon! *virtual chicken soup*

I haz drugs that work for chronic pain, lying on the couch feeling crap and with no lunch is the bit that sucks. But yes, two very different coping medecines

It be the post-con lurgy I tells you. I'm taking today off work cause of it.

Gail has bacon fever so I am blaming her, but yes, post con lurgy is more likely an explanation.

You should tell Adam to come over and pick up all his (and yours) stuff. We have made candied fruit covered in chocolate for incentive.
